Sam had another outstanding season with the Bulldogs in 2008, leading the team with a .410 average, 59 hits, 53 runs and 10 stolen bases. He also had 18 extra base hits including two home runs. In addition, he anchored the defense at shortstop. Sam is one of the best defensive shortstops in Middle Tennessee. He was the starting shortstop for Brentwood Academy this spring, where he hit .396 with 12 steals. Sam was selected to the TBCA Region 5-6 Showcase team, the Division II Middle Tennesse Region team and the TSWA All-State team. Sam has received several offers to play collegiately and will make his decision during the early signing period in November. He is an outstanding student, is a member of the National Honor Societyand just scored a 33 on the ACT.
